Connection between three vocational schools via Live Meeting

Computer science teachers are introduced how Live Meeting can be useful in some professional trainings and workshops. We gave them basic skills and taught them how to use Live Meeting in any professional situations when they want to share ideas with colleagues. But teachers have done something amazing. They used that knowledge in their daily schools environment. I was surprised today when I visited a vocational school in Sibenik. Students had a regular computer science class and learned basic skills in Power Point using computers in lab. But they have been connected via Live Meeting with other two vocational schools in Zagreb and Knin. Those two schools have been listening to the teacher from Sibenik and working in their labs the same subject. They communicated, shared ideas, asked questions and learned the new content with unknown teacher and students from distance schools. Isn’t it wonderful?

Live Meeting used during Sinergija conference
20 listopad 08 09:30 | zeljkak | 1 comment(s)
Last week Microsoft conference in Serbia named Sinergija was held. Some colleagues from Croatia couldn’t come and speak there in person with us but, however, they have been there virtually. They have used Live Meeting so they have been able to participate on the conference in real time and answer on questions. Tomislav Bronzin, for example, has handled two successful sessions via Live Meeting. That was yet another great example how Live Meeting could approach distance presenters and enable them to speak on conference even if they can’t be there.

ICT teachers introduced with all goodies of Live Meeting

Over 400 teachers who teach computer science in primary and secondary schools have been introduced with all goodies of Live Meeting. They have passed a quick workshop with lots of demo and they have got a clearly overview how Live Meeting works, its advantages and examples where and how it could be used. Teachers were interested in and gave us excellent and very useful examples and ideas on how they will use it in education. Teachers want to connect students from big towns with students in smaller towns using Live Meeting in process of preparing them for computer science competition. It will be great and very useful because students in smaller towns often don’t have opportunity to learn and to prepare themselves for competition and learn about programming languages.

It’s time to save time and connect students and teachers all over the land and wider! With Live Meeting that is possible as we speak.

Expression Studio Training via Live Meeting successfully completed

A very special training was held on July 9th, 2008 in Croatia. As part of ETTA (Education and Teacher Training Agency) activities, training for ICT teachers from primary and secondary schools about Microsoft Expression Studio components (Web, Design and Blend) was held simultaneously at 12 locations in 9 educational institutions, reaching total of some 200 (out of 1.300) ICT teachers in Croatia.

Live Meeting was used as a platform for communication, collaboration and presentation. This was the first training about MS Expression studio provided for the teachers in Croatia. It was not the first usage of Live Meeting for training, but was definitely the most complex one, with a great number of participants and locations included. As the feedback gained from the teachers who attended the Live Meeting session clearly shows, everything went smoothly and the teachers were satisfied both with the content presented as well as with the quality of communication/collaboration platform itself.

Microsoft Expression Studio Workshop through Live Meeting

On 9th July I will hold a Microsoft Expression Workshop through Live Meeting between 9 locations around Croatia with hundreds of teachers who will have chance to listen, watch and work on their own laptop or computer in the classroom. The main presenter will share his/her desktop or application and present basic skills and goodies of Expression Studio. Every location will have one PC connected to the Internet and joined on the particular Live Meeting and connected on the LCD Projector with moderator who will share and ask questions in the name of his/her group.

What do you think about that kind of workshop? Do you think that it is possible to run? If you want to participate on that Workshop, please contact me and I will send you a meeting request. In that way you will be able to participate as a listener only, but you will be able to get answers to your questions from the presenter through Q&A window.
